MEET THE TEAM

Graham Kinnear is the Director and Founder at Murus Network the nationwide party wall surveyor network. With over 30 years experience in the property environment, Graham is known for his knowledge of the Party Wall Act and its application.

EDUCATION AND TRAINING:

Graham read Land Management at DeMontfort University and subsequently qualified as a Chartered Building Engineer and Chartered Construction Manager.

ROLE WITHIN THE MURUS NETWORK TEAM:

As the Director ,Graham is the interface between our network of qualified party wall surveyors and their Appointing Owners. In addition he is a full time practising party wall surveyor through his own Building Surveying firm, Graham Kinnear Property Consultant.

His extensive knowledge based on many years of experience includes:

• Party Wall practice and procedure

• Schedules of Condition

• Scaffold, Crane and Oversail Licenses

• Neighbourly matters including injunctions

• Construction site Management

• Tendering and Specification of works

CAREER HIGHLIGHTS:

Graham is known for his ability to undertake complex and high value projects and was a shortlisted Finalist in the Rising Star Category of the Chartered Institute of Building Awards.

Graham has been a finalist in the Best Construction Consultant category for two consecutive years at the London Construction Awards and has won the Kent Business Awards “Best Construction Company” Award on two occasions.

As a Fellow of the Faculty of Party Wall Surveyors, Graham undertakes the interviews for those seeking membership and is a Trainer on the Faculty’s two day induction course. His firm are also one of the referred firms for Party Wall advice by the Faculty of Party Wall Surveyors.

Graham has undertaken party wall work in respect of many national firms including McCarthy & Stone and Lock & Store as well as acting for local authority’s and housing associations.

Grahams current firm has been trading since 2015 having sold his previous four office, multi award winning chain to one of the national firms in 2014.

Additional Qualifications, Affiliations, or Memberships

Graham holds Fellowships with the Property Consultants Society and the Faculty of Party Wall Surveyors. He is a Chartered member of the Chartered Association of Building Engineers and the Chartered Institute of Building. He is an Associate of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators and the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors, member of the Residential Property Surveyors Association and Member of the Pyramus and Thisbe Society.  Graham is also a qualified Energy Assessor.

PUBLICATIONS:

Graham is a monthly contributor to the Your Property Network magazine providing insights on property related matters. He has had over 500 articles published in regional and national press on property related legal matters. Graham has been a podcast guest on the Expat Property Story and hosts a monthly Q&A session at the Kent Property Meet.

Graham is the author of the Property Triangle, a book dedicated to assisting people navigate property investment.

PERSONAL INTERESTS:

In his spare time Graham can be found on his boat or supporting Norwich City Football Club where he is a shareholder.
